How do I enroll my child?
Step 1: Register!
By clicking the button below, you will be prompted to pay a non-refundable $150 registration fee after you fill out your child’s information. Your child will then be on the “waiting list*” for his/her class, and you will be sent a copy of our full parent manual automatically. Please note, registration alone does not secure your child’s spot in his/her class.
Step 2: Enroll!
In order to secure your child’s spot in his/her class, please reach out to us via email to let us know you are ready to enroll, and we will send you additional enrollment forms and an invoice for a deposit in the amount of 2 weeks tuition. Much like a security deposit, this deposit will be returned to you as a credit applied toward the tuition the last month your child attends. Please note, your child’s spot will not be secure until this deposit is paid.
*what does waitlist mean?
Registration without enrollment means your child has been placed on our waitlist. This means that your child is on the list the office constantly monitors as they fill our classes and figure out enrollment, but a spot for them has not been officially secured, is not being “held” for them, and cannot be garanteed. Going on the waiting list can be risky, as simply placing your child on the waiting list does not garantee that a spot will become available, even if the office estimates that the liklihood is high.Taking the risk to place them on the waiting list, however, does keep your child & your family’s needs on our radar, and we will constantly be attempting to fit your child in as soon as possible. If you choose not to be on the waiting list, staff will not be actively working toward fitting your child in.
Figuring out classroom enrollment is a constant task for our office staff, and involves many variables. It is also not an exact science, and we try to give siblings of already enrolled children priority as a courtesy. GG does not keep long waiting lists, as we believe it’s unfair to take non-refundable payment from families if a spot becoming available is unlikely.
Here are some examples of common scenarios (this is not an exhaustive list of the factors at play, or what can happen):
Example 1: you tour GG and you would like your infant to begin in January. The office tells you, however, that the days of the week you would like your child attend are not available until sometime in February. The office has given this estimatated availability based upon the fact that little Johnnie Smith (who is currently an infant and is showing signs of walking and other developmental readiness to be moved to the toddler class in February, freeing up the days you requested for your child in the infant room). Little Johnnie, however, does not begin walking as anticipated, and needs to stay in the infant room longer.
Example 2: you tour GG and you would like your junior preschooler to begin in October. The office tells you, however, that there are no full time spots available for your child, and that you are welcome to have your child placed on a waiting list so that if a spot becomes available, your child would have priority access. You decide to take the risk, and 2 Days later, the office receives notice that a family in junior preschool has to move unexpectedly and will no longer be attending beginning in October. You receive a call from the office that a spot has become available, and your child has first dibs!
Example 3: you tour GG and you would like your toddler to begin attending in July. The office tells you, however, that they estimate a spot won’t become available in September (based upon the fact that another child is slated to move up to the preschool room, and you are first on the waiting list). You make the decision to take your chances and place your child on the waiting list. You receive a phone call a month later stating that the office now estimates that it could take longer for a spot to open up. (This is because s sibling of an already enrolled child unexpectedly needs the spot the office previously estimated would be for your child. Little Jenny Smith’s parents weren’t going to send her little brother to school yet because grandma was going to take care of him. But grandma unexpectedly had a medical emergency, and will now unable to care for him. They called GG panicking, asking for him to begin attending in the Junior Preschool class as soon as a spot is available).
